This Welsh Ragga-Metal bands 8 Track EP is a very well made release, and is a big leap for the band.Released on BielerBros Records in 2009, it was released 2 years after the very succesful "Roots Rock Riot" which the band had been riding for a while. The first track "Stand For Something" was realeased on Metal Hammer 147, which I bought. I listened to it and knew this was going to be a very good album, typical Skindred."Stand For Something" was also released as a single. It is a very catchy track, but also very meaningful. Benji Webbe (vocals, electronics) says the song is about a time when he was younger."Stand For Something is a track about when I was younger, I saw some little guy getting picked on by a big guy in a chip shop, and stood up for him. That's what this song is about, people should do that more often."The second track "You Can't Stop It" is also a very catchy track, I see it as a song about oppression. It talks about how music cannot be stopped, no matter how hated it is, and in the Metal community, oppression happens alot, so this song is also like a liberation, as if to say "fuck you" to the people who don't like Skindred. Very good song. Now for their 3rd track, a cover of "Electric Avenue". Now most people who have heard it will agree it's a very good cover, but for those who haven't are probably thinking "what the fuck?" It's a great song, very catchy, just like the original. With the Skindred twist on it, it makes for a great song for concerts to get everyone bouncing."Calling All Satations" is the fourth track on the album, which is about liberation. This song is the opposite to "You Can't Stop It". This song is about the people who love Skindred, and that they should be played loud. It's also as if Metal has taken over, Skindred being claimed as a "sound liberation". Veyr true in my opinion. Benji also says they are "fighting for your freedom" As if he was trying to save the world of music, and save our ears."Corrupted" is the 5th track. Benji talks about Politicains in this song. "Taking from the poor and giving to the rich" is my personal favourite line. It's as if they are seen as heroes, when if anything, they are the enemys of us all. He talks about the Corruption in politics no-a-days. How twisted they all are, and how all they care about is money. "Who Are You?" is a song about how everyone is questioned on what they want to do. A very good song to make you determined and want to do something abd be succesful. Skindred are a very uplifting band, but the feel of this song is very mixed, there is a very sad backing, with the lyrics being the complete opposite. Clever song, as you xcan hear the lyrics over everything, this song will make you think."Days Like These" the 7th track on the album. It is about how you have to live your life in the best way possible, and how your friends are the people you should always be with, because they make your life worth living. "It's Days Like These, Where Everyone Really has To Come Together" I take this as him saying we all need to work together, to be the strongest we can."Invincible" the 8th and last song on this amazing album. This song is very bass driven, great riff if i'm honest. The song itself is about how people think their invinvible, but how these people are the weakest on the planet. It also says you shouldn't try to take on something you know nothing about unless you're invincible, and that no-one is.This is my first review, so if it's shit, sorry.
