This was a really good album. The follow up is good too, and then it was all downhill.
Sardleem
Agreed. Thereafter, they followed a more commercial, less quality line, a shame......
Madi
This press sounds pretty fantastic, damn quiet. Chris’ vocals sound great, and the piano on Trouble is front and center

I spoke to ken nelson (producer) about the initial 2000 release; so you purists know, tracks: A1 to B2, B4 to B6 on the 2000 release were direct-from-tape transfers, not transferred digitally, not messed with, not remastered, not subject to awfull digital filters or pre ringing. A1 to B2, B4 to B6 on the 2000 release are the best possible window to the studio recordings that are available (unless one owns the master tape). A characteristic that is especially rare for a millennium release.
Jek
This is probably one of the best albums they made with A Rush of Blood to the Head, they did knock it out the park not a bad track a really solid album and the sound quality on this press is very impressive!
Fenrinos
The 180g reissue has the same -1-1/-1-1 matrix, so it's pretty hard to tell a 1st press from a reissue without weighing it. If you found it in-store sealed, then it's probably a reissue. I'm going to make a wild guess that if it says it was printed in the EU, then it's a reissue. It's both a blessing and a curse that some Parlophone reissues are like this. The same problem exists for Radiohead's OK Computer (Parlophone pressings). It's extremely hard to tell an original 1st press from a reissue because the matrix runouts are the same, but at the same time, it's sort of a good thing because it diminishes your need to hunt for a 1st press (if it was pressed using the same stampers, then it should sound the same if not better given it's on heavier vinyl and in new condition).
Dorizius
I believe you are correct with your wild guess. I was trying to figure out whether I had the reissue or first press, but based on the 2 entries, if you look at the photos, the back of the outer sleeve has a slight variation. The original appears to have 6 lines of text where the reissue condensed it into 5 lines of text with no mention of UK in it, where I think (can't tell because the photo is too small), the original does say 'UK' in the serial in the 6th line.
Scoreboard Bleeding
Is this UK first press? How come the price goes from less than 20 to almost 100 € for a copy in similar conditions? Some seller present this as a year 2000 repress and some other for an original 1st press. I think there is need for some clarification. Can any owner please add some info? Thanks
Keramar
I understand that but still there is too much range for non autographed items in similar condition. I do not want to criticize anyone, just pointing out the problem. Maybe if the record is sealed there is no way to tell a first press from a repress but I believe we should figure out something to avoid misunderstandings.
Jusari
I believe the one being sold for £140 is autographed
