this is the only record I've ever given 1 star on discogsit actually hurt my opinion of both of these artists, Burial in particular, whose work I have unhesitatingly rated 5 stars in the pastit seems cynical, thrown-together, an intoxicated mess, a pathetic shadow of both artists' amazing (years ago) prior work... I would love to know the real story behind this record.
huge….the last half is the best part, warehouse shit, love this one, 10/10
And all this time I thought they were the same person... Anyway, I've enjoyed and purchased releases from both of these artists, but I'm gonna pass on this one. Not quite my steelo, but it seems to be a logical progression in terms of what to expect from both these producers in the future.
Surprised to see all of the hate on here - I'm personally feeling this. From an ambient/experimental perspective the track contains some fresh elements. "Got me Fucked Up" vocal is my favorite element of the track which serves to punctuate a real emotional state.
i cant believe zomby and burial sampled lil ugly mane
YESS I wasn't the only one who recognized that lol!
Not even two minutes in and I'm already sick of that vocal.
I'm not a Burial fan one bit and would never have bought a Burial record, but this is definetely my favoruite track of him. This shit goes hard.
Freaky Hook
I'm sorry, not trying to be rude or anything, but it is quite a pity for you indeed sir for going out of your way to give him a pass for no good reason because his earlier work is genuinely phenomenal as well as equally innovative without a doubt, especially a lot better than this newer collaboration release. Though this is not terrible or mediocre by any means since I also like it myself, so I agree with you there though I still can't help but find it somewhat lacking compared to his original work, just saying. Please try to keep an open mind, as Burial can change your life. Ignore the negative reviews.
since when 5000 copies are considered limited? it's 2016 smh
a give us a B Sid--Rezzett S.D.Y.F on the flip 10" would be sick
It's a 10" single for $4.00, keeps it true to us who still cut our own dubs. #howisthisabuse
No doubt about most of the Burial releases but good to see this release finally ends the HYPE.
@TWRA_SIRIUS what are you even talking about? You're literally making no sense whatsoever.
If that is the best way of advertising a new album? Whatever. It seems the stimulus-response scheme is still working. Congrats Hyperdub!
This isnt a burial release though... its a feature. This is the lead single from Zombys new album Ultra. Presumably this is more zomby and less burial.
Don't think it's fair to call peeps fake fans for not enjoying the release. It's only opinion after all. I had no preconceived ideas for this one but was sadly disappointed as well. It just seemed to lack substance and the vocal quickly grated on me but that's my interpretation. Each to their own. Just sayin.....
Disappointing to say the least. The samples used just aren't even interesting.
This is a collaboration between two great producers. If you were expecting a 'classic' Burial track then you should question your following of him. In my opinion the fan following of Burial was divided when Temple Sleeper was released. Burial is a diverse producer who seems to have very little limitation when it comes to producing and the fact it seems he is stepping away from the traditional 'future garage' vibe seems to be having a mixed reception from the fans. I will always be an avid Burial listener and I cannot think of a release (or production for that matter) that I do not like.Let the creativity flow. Let the 'fake' fans die out.
Not at all, but if a Burial listener was expecting to hear something like his previous releases then of course they'll be disappointment, it's a Zomby collab taken from a Zomby album.Because Burial is elusive and isn't directly in the public eye, does that mean he isn't allowed to experiment...? As said previously, it seems Burial is switching his style up, following the Temple Sleeper release and now this one. In all honestly I'm really enjoying this release :D
Just listened to it again ... ok so nothing is rally happening in this track ... what were they thinking?
Firstly, if you know how to DJ then you'd know that this track is very versatile for mixing. Secondly, it's a Zomby track with a Burial feature so of course it's going to sound more like a Zomby track than Burial.
everyone slating this is disappointed because they wanted a "burial" track. this is on zomby's album, it's a zomby tune, you can't expect rain and crying people just because it features burial, big up zomby
rglyall The thing is though, it doesn't like either of them. As somebody who loves BOTH artists, I found this release incredibly disappointing. The thing is though, it does sound both of them. As somebody who loves BOTH artists, I found this release incredibly satisfying.
While I don't completely agree I definitely see your point, more importantly, the "rain and crying people" bit has me giggling my ass off. Big ups.

Yeah not the best Burial track, but it will sell out and people will spend over £50 buying it on discogs in the years to come.
ha proved wrong then.. why on earth is 5k considered limited?
. . . dolla dolla bin ya'll . . .
'super limited' 'strictly one per customer only' - errr? 5k copies printed of a very average track = dollar bin record after the hype dies.
